Engineering Maintenance Manager

Kinetic recruitment services are working in partnership with one of our clients to recruit full-time food production workers for their site based in Ashton-Under-Lyne.
This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate with the earning potential being high!
This position is a short term position with potential of a long term position.
Food production and manufacturing experience is a must!
This role is a rotation of 2 weeks nights and 2 weeks days, all candidates MUST be able to work both days and nights.
Hours of work
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday – 48 hours
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday – 36 hours
Payrate for the first 12 consecutive weeks
* Standard hours £12.58 per hour
* Overtime Monday to Saturday £18.88 per hour
* Overtime Sundays and bank holidays £25.17 per hour
Payrate after completing 12 consecutive weeks
* Standard hours £14.91 per hour
* Overtime Monday to Saturday £22.38 per hour
* Overtime Sundays and bank holidays £29.85 per hour
The role
* Packing produce.
* Shrink wrapping produce into boxes.
* Operating high-speed production lines.
* Maximising output and yields.
* Ensuring all health and safety procedures are always adhered to.
* Maintaining product quality standards and helping them achieve their KPI’s.

Benefits

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer based at Hill Biscuits Limited, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL7 0DB.
About the role:
This role requires alternating shifts: 6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Responsible for running, introducing and maintaining equipment together with the development of continuous improvement ideas, and facilitation of these through a number of Lean Manufacturing areas to deliver improvements across the factory.
Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Delivery of planned / predictive maintenance across all production lines and process areas.
- Facilitation of Continuous Improvement of cross functional teams using a combination of tools and techniques such as TPM, RCM, FMECA, 5’s and Kaizen events.
- Identification and implementation of improvement ideas to achieve world-class standards relating to OEE, Food Safety, H&S and Quality measurements.
- Optimisation of equipment, addressing both chronic and sporadic issues to reduce losses in efficiency and waste.
- Supporting the development of production operators in first line maintenance and problem-solving.
- Adherence to H&S procedures and legislation

Required skills:
- Preferably qualified to HNC / HND level with electrical awarenes (18th edition); however, candidates with a full Engineering Apprenticeship will be considered.
- Proven quality awareness, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience working in a similar environment.
- A good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes and technology.
- Proven ability to plan and prioritize workload in order to meet required deadlines and performance standards.
- Communication and interpersonal skills through cross-functional teams and departments.
- Initiative, self-motivated, assertive, tenacious, well organised, with influencing skills.
- Team worker.
- Familiar with planned and preventative maintenance skills.
- The job holder must be able to converse clearly and confidently in the English language (written and oral).
